A company claiming to be Allied International Credit Corp. sent me to two identical letters dated July 18, 2017, stating that I owed $32.18 for an EBAY account, and that they were acting as debt collector after previous attempts to resolve the debt had failed.

Red flags indicating a scam:

1. No specific vendor was listed.

2. No specific purchase was identified.

3. No specific or accurate EBAY account was identified. The "reference number" is one provided by "Allied International Corp," not by EBAY.

4. EBAY communication is handled via e-mail and/or PayPal.

5. I have no outstanding purchases on EBAY, and my account is not listed by the name on the letter.

Do not send any money to this company or contact them by the phone number listed on the letter and provide them with personal information.

This is a scam that needs to be stopped, but the US branch of the company is not accredited the Better Business Bureau.

If there is a legitimate Allied International Credit Corp, I hope they pursue resolving the problem.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Location: Louisville, Kentucky
